What we have built for
- Semantic headings and landmarks, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure
- Keyboard access to every link, button, form field and dialog, with a visible focus ring
- Text and interface colours checked for contrast against their backgrounds
- Layouts that reflow to narrow screens and to enlarged text without clipping content
- Form fields with real labels, and errors reported in text rather than by colour alone
- Alternative text on content images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
- Server-rendered pages, so content is readable before scripts finish loading
Known gaps
- Some long location and service listings are dense to navigate with a screen reader; we are shortening them
- A few data tables, such as sample report formats, scroll horizontally on small screens
- The guided enquiry assistant has been checked with a keyboard but not yet with every screen reader and browser combination
